About Forest Resort Creswick
Located in the picturesque township of Creswick, the Forest Resort is a perfect backdrop year round. Set amongst the Creswick Regional Park between Daylesford and Ballarat it's a private oasis within easy reach of Melbourne. Our Club offers Members the total Golfing experience.
The Resort was established in line with an environmental philosophy focused on long-term sustainability in energy and water conservation and with regard to its traditional owners.
Since its inception, the Forest Resort Golf Course has continued its policy of providing the Golfer with one of the best examples of environmental management in the world today. The Tony Cashmore designed course has been carefully and gently laid out amongst the beautiful surrounding forest. With minimal chemical use and water recycling through its multi-million dollar treatment plant, visitors and members can be confident they are truly experiencing golf, and the nature, coming together in perfect harmony.
The Forest Resort Golf Course was designed by internationally-renowned golf course architect, Tony Cashmore. This magnificent vision of such a legendary course designer resulted in a course of forest framed greens, fairways set in cathedral-like passages, sweeping slopes and cooling creek systems invoking the unique Forest experience.
This beautiful course incorporates natural vegetation in a bushland setting with 15 picturesque lagoons to add to the challenge of the game and beauty of the environment.
The international-class course is of championship length from the back tees, running 6300 metres with each nine having two par-5 holes and two par-3 holes. The course design has allowed for the natural flow of land to determine the course routing wherever possible using all available ground elements - ridges, swales, spurs and trees to create golf course holes with individuality, visual beauty and strategic flexibility. In addition, amid the scenic beauty of the course surroundings, is a generous practice fairway and other training areas.
In designing the course, the emphasis was environmental sustainability with the use of native/drought tolerant indigenous grasses and limited to minimal chemical use. The course is watered with recycled treated water, thereby causing no strain on the environment and local water supply. This makes for a more challenging course and means that native animals will remain in this habitat.
From the novice to the professional, the chance to play on a world-class golf course is a rare opportunity for many, but at Forest Resort, a Par 72, 6300 metre golf journey awaits as part of the everyday lifestyle.
